In 1997, Hong Li proposed high-capacity nano-Si anode materials for the first time in the world, applied for the first invention patent, and published the first international article on nano-Si anode materials in 1999, and proposed a comprehensive solution of nano-Si anode with a meta-curfew structure in 2005, which was selected as one of the “National Tenth Five-Year Major Scientific and Technological Achievements Exhibition”. The nano-silicon negative electrode material was granted a series of core material patents in 1997, and it took 20 years of research to realize the technology transfer, and began to be industrialized in 2017 in Jiangsu Liyang Tianmu Pioneer Battery Material Co. Proposed and developed hybrid solid-liquid electrolyte battery and all-solid-state battery technologies based on in-situ solidification technology, and promoted the development of lithium-ion battery failure analysis technology and high-throughput computing technology.
His current research interests include key materials and battery technologies for high energy density lithium-ion batteries, solid-state lithium batteries, battery failure analysis, and solid-state ionics. He has co-authored 380 SCI papers with over 27,000 citations and H-factor of 84. He has applied for more than 100 Chinese invention patents and has been granted more than 50 Chinese invention patents.
He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, working in the E01 group. He is a subject matter expert of energy storage in advanced energy field of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), a responsible expert of Smart Grid Technology and Equipment Special Project of MIIT, and a technical expert of National New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center (NENEVIC). He is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation. National Key R&D Program of New Energy Vehicle Pilot Special Power Battery Project, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission Solid State Battery Key Project, National Natural Science Foundation of China Solid State Battery Key Project Leader.
